Adam Lambert Calms Fans After Twitter War Erupts Over Adam Levine's Voice Comment
On Tuesday's episode of The Voice, Team Cee Lo contestant Nakia sang the Adam Lambert hit "Whataya Want From Me," which prompted coach Adam Levine to declare that he had never heard that song before. In addition, he said, "Im pretty sure...that you probably sang it better than the person that sang it originally. So, good job."
Well, Lambert's devoted fans weren't very happy about Levine's apparent dissing of their boy, and bombarded him with tweets admonishing him for being unaware of a song that was such a big hit, and daring to suggest that Nakia is better than Levine. But Lambert seemed to take it all in stride, telling his Twitter followers, "I'm def a Maroon 5 fan. Fans: there is no reason to be angry. Thanks for being protective, but it's all good."
Lambert did say he loved Nakia's "great performance," and noted that his new album is coming along so well that, quote, "I think Adam might know who I am after [I release it]." He added, "Get ready for me, Levine! Haha!"
Nakia, meanwhile, wrote on Twitter, "Fans, please dont hate on @adamlevine for his comments about [the song]...Hes a great guy & wasnt trying sabotage anything." And in his defense, Adam Levine tweeted, "I had honestly never heard that song before. I thought that @nakia made me like a song that would have otherwise fallen flat. Im NOT sorry."
