RECAP: Top Four Reveled on Semi-Final Results Show

Last night, NBC’s The Voice went from the top eight to four, with one contestant from each team advancing.  Before the teams were cut, the top eight from the teams of judges Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton performed George Michael’s “Freedom.”

The finalists were chosen by combining America’s votes with the judges’ scores.  Here’s who we predicted would move on:

Christina’s Team: Beverly McClellan
Adam’s Team: Javier Colon
Cee Lo’s Team: TIE Vicci Martinez or Nakia
Blake’s Team: Dia Frampton

On Team Cee Lo, who we were undecided on, Nakia was given a slight favor over Vicci by Cee Lo, but Vicci ended up advancing due to receiving more votes from America.

Adam gave Javier huge favoritism over the hard-headed Casey Weston, who gave Adam attitude and bombed her performance.  Javier ended up moving into the top four.

Blake and Christina were both divided over their contestants Xenia and Dia Frampton and Frenchie Davis and Beverly McClellan, respectively.    Beverly and Dia were ultimately chosen.

Next week each contestant will sing original songs and duet with their coaches.  The voting is now out of the hands of the judges and will be left up to America.

While this year’s American Idol was full of talent, The Voice has given a new angle on a stale idea.  The Voice cuts the crap, and the crappy contestants, and seems to move faster than Idol.  Besides the lame hosting by Carson Daly, The Voice has our vote.
