"Lady Gaga Day" to Be Celebrated in Taiwan

Lady Gaga is making her first trip to Taiwan on July 3rd, and in honor of her visit, that day will be declared Lady Gaga Day in the city of Taichung.  FocusTaiwan reports that Taichung mayor Jason Hu said that they're going to honor the singer in that way because they "have spent a lot of time and energy inviting Lady Gaga to visit...and we are very pleased to see the success of our efforts."  Gaga will also receive the key to the city, and have an album launch party at a local arena during her five-day visit.

Lady Gaga will visit Taiwan during an already scheduled Asian visit.  On June 25th, she's scheduled to perform at MTV Video Music Aid Japan, which is actually just the regular Japanese version of the MTV Video Music Awards that has this year been turned into a benefit concert for the Japanese Red Cross, to assist earthquake and tsunami relief.
