ALL THINGS GLEE

Stevie Nicks Solo CD Debuts High; Rumours Re-Enters Billboard Chart Thanks to Glee

This week, it appears that it's Stevie Nicks' world and we just live in it.  Observe: her new solo album, In Your Dreams -- her first in 10 years --- debuts on the Billboard chart at #6.  Meanwhile, Rumours, the most famous album by her group Fleetwood Mac, has re-entered the Billboard chart at #11, thanks to astonishing sales increase of 1,951%, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

So what made that nearly 35-year-old album resurface in such a big way?  The Glee effect.  Last week's episode was dedicated to the 1977 album's songs.  The week before, Rumours had only sold a thousand copies.  After the May 3rd episode, it sold nearly 30,000 copies.   And on the singles chart, five Rumours songs debut in versions by the Glee cast.

As if that's not enough Stevie Nicks for you, her classic duet with Don Henley, "Leather & Lace," was prominently featured on NBC's The Voice Tuesday night, May 10th, as two contestants performed it together in an attempt to remain on the show.  In the end, the female contestant, who sounded remarkably like Stevie, got to stay.
